On October 5th, I traveled from Rochester to Schenectady for one reason… to shoot and live-post as many photos of this beautiful little city as I could in 4 hours. In the interest of pure volume, I left my professional equipment at home and used nothing by my iPhone and Instagram. While the quality of the images doesn’t hold a candle to what my Canon DSLR camera can do, the purpose of this project was to “see-and-shoot,” giving the viewer a fun, lighthearted view of Schenectady and allowing the attractive cityscape to speak for itself. While my Urban Phoenix blog features pictures that support the story, this would be a lighthearted image-driven endeavor.
The 176 photos I took and posted from 12-4 garnered over 1000 likes as residents followed the hashtag #urbanphotothon live as I walked around the city. Below are all the photos in sequential order… if you’re a resident, you should have a pretty good idea of the path I took just by looking at each image. So scroll down and watch as the best of Schenectady comes alive in simple, fun photos.
Thanks Schenectady! 🙂
